On
Monday, November 2nd, at 7 p.m. We set out from
the building of our school.
After fifteen hours
of travelling, we reached Seligenstadt, where we were
greeted by the chairwoman of students’ community - Madeleine
Müller.
We were taken to the class, where we waited for the German
coordinator - Martin Bleuel. After his coming, we
were shown the whole school.
The new institution with very well and professionally
equipped studios and classrooms, were shown to us.
After seeing the school we were assigned our exchange
partners and went with them to their homes in order to
unpack our luggage and rest after the journey. At the same
time teachers were taken to the hotel.
During lunch time we went to the school café for dinner.
After a tasty meal, we went to the city centre in order to
visit the historic church. The guide told us the
story of it, and showed us the herbalist's garden behind the
church.
After the tour we had free time, which
we spent with German families.
On 4th
November 2009, in the morning, we went to school with our
partners for their lessons. At 9 a.m. we had a meeting in
the school cafeteria, where each country prepared a
multimedia presentation in order to bring his school to
project’s participants. After the presentation, we were
officially welcomed by the mayor of Seligenstadt. Each
participant received an emblem with the name of the city.
On
Thursday, we had a trip to Frankfurt. We also visited the
European school in which there was a presentation of
interactive whiteboards. While we were
participating in training, in which we
were shown how to use them,
teachers were visiting the school building. Our adventure
with Frankfurt started from entering the Main Tower - the
skyscraper in the city's business center (200 meters). It
has 56 floors above ground and 5 floors underground.
The fifty-sixth floor offers a splendid view of the
Frankfurt.
After taking a few photos we went to the eighth-floor
shopping center. We spent there two hours doing
shopping.
Around 5 p.m. we gathered in front of
the shopping center. Half the way back we went by line, and
the rest of the way we went by bus. At that time, teachers
had training in Frankfurt.
On 6th
November, in the last day of our staying in Germany we
participated in another presentation of interactive boards
with other software. Around midday we said goodbye to the
representations of the partnership countries, and to the
headmaster of Merianschule- Wolfgang Glänzel, and went way
back home to Poland.
Another trip is being planned in April
2010 to Malta. I hope
it
will be as successful as that from which
we came back!
See you,
Marta Kupska
